Adding Detail to Environment.
Dev Diary #22
During these past 2 weeks, I have been slowly refining the environment by taking the cubes that made up the cafe space and turning them into low-poly items and furniture. As I was modelling the items, I made sure to remember the project brief of keeping it a low-poly game and so whenever I created a new sphere or cylinder for example, I made sure to reduce the segments from 32 to around 10. This made modelling some of the objects such as a teacup a little more difficult but I felt it was better to have the objects clearly fit in with the rest of the game's design rather than have some really smooth high-poly models mixed in.
Whilst the scene looks fairly empty as it is right now, a lot of the smaller items I modeled will be duplicated and used as interactable weapons and obstacles in the final game. As well as this, the scene still lacks any materials, colours or lighting. Hopefully after I implement these, it will look more complete and ready to be exported and used within the project.
